Young people attending our school interact daily with a community of 590 local schoolchildren. This daily socialisation engenders a sense of belonging to this rural community and helps to establish an identity and consequently a set of values. Irish society is changing rapidly and it is more important than ever to foster among young people, during their formative years, a sense of belonging and a sense of community by ensuring that they live and work in their local area.

Students are the foundation of any school and Coachford College ensures each and every student receives attention and care in school. This is key to the student enjoying their time in the college and provides an inducive environment for them to excel and achieve all the aims and ambitions presented in their minds.

Students are also protected in school hours by not allowing indiscipline with a strict programme of reports. Pastoral care and a student council allow students to have a point of contact to ensure their voice is heard.
