Principal's Welcome
to Coachford College
|
|
Coachford
College is situated on a ten-acre site adjacent to Coachford
village. The College provides comprehensive, co-educational,
second-level schooling.
In
recent years substantial investment has been made in the
provision of new buildings and equipment.
A
range of subjects is taught to Leaving Certificate Higher Level.
This scholastic approach is complemented by attention to the
moral, cultural and physical development of the children.
The
nature of the joint role of parents and teachers necessitates
co-operation and communication. Parents are always welcome to
call and discuss any respect of their child’s welfare.
Furthermore, parents are urged to make use of our Annual
Parents’Day.
Free
from the distraction of an urban setting, the College is rather
unusual in that almost all pupils are from a rural background.
The many fine trees, the hedgerows and lawns as well as the
arbour and walled garden contribute to an atmosphere which is
conducive to learning and dignified behaviour.
The
current enrolment of 605 pupils is fairly equally distributed
among the sexes with nearly equal numbers of boys and girls.
Mr.
Patrick O'Connor, Principal
